Elecampane root

Inula helenium, commonly known as elecampane, is a rhizomatous, sunflower-like plant from the aster family. Native to Europe and northern Asia, it has since become naturalized in various parts of eastern North America, including fields, clearings, disturbed areas, roadsides, and waste places, extending from Nova Scotia and Minnesota south to North Carolina and Missouri.
