Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is a tropical, woody vine native to the Peruvian Amazon. It gets its name from the sharp, curved thorns that resemble a cat’s claws. 

The inner bark contains various lipids and phytosterols, including beta-sitosterol, and is commonly used to make tea and tinctures.
